(PLUG-INS NOT REQUIRED TO VIEW THIS SITE)This 1907 mirror was acquired at the Kansas Coliseum Sunday Flea Market for $23.00 on 17 November 2002.Resilvering and refinishing was completed February 2003.The quality of the resilvering looks tremendous!The refinishing is very true to the vintage of the mirror.Repair to the carvings is undetectable.The maker's signature and date of 1907 was found on the backing of the mirror before work.Thank you Richard and Jan!The Dresser mounting tabs were removed in favor of wall hanging eyelets and chain. Mirror weight is 22 1/2 lbs. (10 Kg.) it is 32 1/2 in. wide (825 mm) 31 1/4 in. tall. (190 mm).
This mirror is a family heirloom thought to have been cut from a hall tree.Planning is under way to replace missing carvings at top of frame. Hardware from mirror, one brass collar missing. |
