Frame Refinishing & Restoration

Through time, many of these precious art frames can become damaged by poor quality repairs, paint over old finish, stressful environmental conditions, poor storage, and rough handling.  We urge customers to keep and restore their original or antique frames whenever possible.  Often when a frame was commissioned for an individual painting, its cost was often equal to or more than the painting itself.  We are skilled in many aspects of frame restoration and repair.  We provide cleaning, paint removal, structural and ornament repair, casting, and refinishing for most types of frames.

PRICING: We charge a base price of $39.00 per hour with a half hour minimum.  This includes materials in most cases but we reserve the right to add cost of materials when we required special items.  This includes refinishing the frame.  In many cases we re-coat the entire frame, but can in some instances do a touch up or spot color where the repair is made.  Part of this will be the customer decision.

TIMING: Usually we will complete reconstruction in 3 weeks.  It takes time and sometimes overnight for many of our materials to dry completely so they can be added to or finished afterward.
 

SHIPPING POLICY:

For shipping mirrors please triple wrap in small caliber bubble wrap, making sure to cover the edges.  Then wrap again with large caliber bubble wrap (not necessary for very small items such as rear view mirrors), and place in a sturdy cardboard container.  This is a tried and true method we have used for many years.  The great majority of packages wrapped as indicated arrive and return successfully, but many times other methods are not successful.

Please include a check or money order in the box.  Also be sure to include somewhere inside the package a return shipping address.
